Joseph Edge– Community Activist

It is inappropriate for an elected official to continue to serve the people of a jurisdiction when they have revealed themselves as prejudiced against and harboring contempt for their own constituents. The persistence of the legacy of systemic white supremacy is exposed when white people in positions of power who are racist do not observe that their racism is absolutely disqualifying for wielding that power. This culture of white supremacy endangers us all and affirmative measures to dismantle it are essential at each and every opportunity.

Joseph Edge

The Rev. Joshua Kingsley- Pasor, King of Kings Lutheran Church

As a community faith leader in Clackamas County, I want the most effective and compassionate government. Mark Shull’s inability to form relationships through liaison assignments. His comments and behavior demonstrate a lack of compassion. I support the recall of Mark Shull in favor of a county commission to bring Clackamas County together and make it better.

The Rev. Joshua Kingsley

Juan Carlos González- Councilor, Metro District 4

Kathryn Harrington- Commissioner Chair, Washington County

Kathy Hyzy- Councilor, City of Milwaukie

Katy Dunsmuir- Councilor, City of Estacada

Lori Stegmann- Multnomah County Commissioner District 3

It is deeply disappointing to witness the continued hateful rhetoric that Commissioner Shull espouses. We need electeds who lead with their values, not their racism and xenophobia. Leadership matters and Commissioner Shull and is not fit to lead.

Lori Stegmann

Mac Smiff- Editor, We Out Here Magazine

Mark Shull has demonstrated time and time again through his words and actions that he does not care about the safety or well-being of the full-spectrum of his diverse constituency. From xenophobic attacks on Muslims and Jews to his COVID missteps, Mark Shull does not belong in office and lacks the trust of the people; therefore, I wholeheartedly endorse the effort to recall him from office.

Mac Smiff

Mark Meek- State Representative, House District 40

Nadia Hasan- Councilor, City of Beaverton

Sami Al-AbdRabbuh- Member, Oregon School Board Members of Color Caucus

Serin Bussell- Portland Community College Board

Wendy Lawton- Councilor, City of Fairview

Elected officials take an oath to represent their communities, and Commissioner Shull, based on his public comments about Black activists, Muslims, and immigrants, as well as public comments comparing vaccine and mask mandates to Jim Crow laws and actions against Jews during the Holocaust, show that he is a bigot – and cannot represent his community in all its diversity.
